Frightened Rabbit

Sunday, November 23rd, 2008

I really like Chuck. It’s a fun tv show, with great music.

So far this season they’ve used Frightened Rabbit twice. The first time was a “I can’t believe my ears” moment. I went on the Chuck website, just to verify. But the second time, it was just weird.

They used the song – Keep Yourself Warm. It was a strange choice, but it did fit the scene

Some of the Lyrics:

It takes more than fucking someone you don’t know to keep warm.
Do you really think that for a house-beat you’ll find your love in a hole?

Oh, you won’t find love in a,
Won’t find love in a hole.
It takes more than fucking someone to keep yourself warm.

So can you guess what word they used in place of “fucking”?

The first time it sounds like “fuaaaaaaaaaa”. The second time, it was more like a “loving a”. Then the used the “fuaaaaaaaaaa” again.

Check it out yourself (Isn’t Hulu great?):

Also they messed with the song structure – probably for time and content – they removed a part that talks about drugs and STDs.

Broadcast:

My hole, I’ll get my hole, I’ll get my hole
Get my hole, get my hole and I’ll find out more.
<remove>
It’s a choo-choo train, a rocket launch
If we have a hormone race
i’m bound to finish first.

Can you see in the dark?
Can you see the look on your face?
The flashing white light’s been turned off,
You don’t know know who’s in your bed.

It takes more than fucking someone you don’t know to keep warm.
Do you really think that for a house-beat you’ll find your love in a hole?

Oh, you won’t find love in a,
Won’t find love in a hole.
It takes more than fucking someone to keep yourself warm.

I’m drunk, I’m drunk
And you’re probably on pills
If we’ve both got the same diseases
It’s irrelevant girl
</remove>

And the room fills with steam
Oh, evaporates disappears
My point of entry is the same way
That I leave

Can you see in the dark?
Can you see the look on your face?
The flashing white light’s been turned off
You don’t know know who’s in your bed.

It takes more than fucking someone you don’t know to keep warm.
Do you really think that for a house-beat you’ll find your love in a hole?

But, you won’t find love in a, won’t find love in a hole.
It takes more than fucking someone to keep yourself warm.

You won’t find love in a, won’t find love in a hole.
<remove>It takes more than fucking someone to keep yourself-</remove>
<add>You won’t find love in a, won’t find love in a hole.</add>
SEE in the dark!
Can you see the look in your face?
The flashing white light’s been turned off
You don’t know know who’s in your bed.

It takes more than fucking someone you don’t know
to keep warm
Do you really think that for a house-beat you’ll find your love in a hole?

Recreational Drug Use

Spaced is finally getting a Region 1 release. And to celebrate, Simon Pegg (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz) and Jessica Hynes (nee Stevenson) (Shaun of the Dead, Son of Rambow) and director Edgar Wright will travel to New York, Los Angeles, Comic-Con and Austin for special screenings, a marathon, panel sessions and signings for fanboys and fangirls.

It took ‘em long enough. I still have my Livejournal archive, and according to that – I purchased the Region 2 release sometime around December 2004. The series ended in 2001. So yea, no one was in a rush.

You can guess that since I’m writing about it here on raishad.com, I love Spaced. And you’d be right. It’s one of those shows that I get an urge to marathon. And you could probably guess that I’ll be at the Austin event. But unfortunately, I’ll be on vacation. I’ll be out of the country. I’ll be in Trinidad. I’ll be missing Simon Pegg, Jessica Hynes, and Edgar Wright. I’ll be missing Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright for the 2nd time.

It’s a bit disappointing.

Regarding the upcoming release, it looks like I might have to buy it, though the cover is a bit worse. There will be new commentary tracks and a few new interview bits.

when I said Pushing Daisies was a “strong second”

Turns out I was wrong. Pushing Daisies is a strong first. Tonight’s episode was amazing.

It was so perfect and excellent, I almost cried.

I just hope I won’t be needed to save this show like I did with 30 Rock.

Also, I too wanted to be a Jedi

Why is Bionic Woman such shit and Battlestar Galactica such awesome?

Journeyman is definitely the best new show this season. Or maybe Aliens in America. Haven’t decided yet. Pushing Daisies is a strong second.

Update: Seems I was lied to. I hate liars. Joey Devilla is a liar and a thief. He totally stole The Simpsons content from another site. Thanks Dario

Seeing a post like this, showcasing scenes from episodes of The Simpsons and the movie they reference makes me realize how little I do on my blog.

I mean, it’s been a week since ACL, and I haven’t even made a post about it. At least I uploaded pictures though. Admittedly, not good pictures – mostly crowd shots. But I could’ve said something about how seeing Crowded House was the best thing ever. Or how I really really hate Earth Invaders by Björk, and seeing it live just reinforces the fact that new Björk doesn’t appeal to me. Or even state how the people who sit in chairs in the middle of Zilker Park are the saddest people in the world.

I think I’ll start uploading some videos I took to youtube.
