Long defiant despite equaliser

Tuesday, May 27th, 2008

Update on this post

I scored the equaliser and drove it home. On Sunday, I got a “Oklahoma 900″. That’s right, Long’s lead vanished just as quickly as it arrived.

Sunday was a big day. Not only did I make the world a safer place, I ended up driving home a Samsung LN40A650.

I’ll Stop Complaining When Ticketmaster Stops Sucking

Tuesday, May 27th, 2008

Wasn’t things supposed to change? Didn’t Pearl Jam fight the good fight? Didn’t there used to be tons of smaller ticket vendors? Why must I spend the cost of a ticket, just to buy tickets?

Rilo Kiley Tickets

I recently bought tickets to the Rilo Kiley show at The Palladium on Sunday, June 15th. The tickets were $22.50 each – not bad. But I paid $21.50 in Fees. Outrageous.

Ticketmaster – stop sucking!

Do You Have Relatives From Out Of State?

Wednesday, May 21st, 2008

Are they planning on visiting during the Summer?

Are they planning on driving?

Does their license plate end with a number higher than 800? For example, XXX-900

If the answer is yes to all these questions, do me a solid and let me know.

Long scored an “Out of State” 800 on me. I can’t come back from that. I mean this isn’t like the time where Long got a 40 on the way to Ikea, and I got 2 Z’s. Snatching victory from the jaws of defeat.

Any lead will do. I just need to drive by and beat Long to the punch (haha).

Alternate Route

I learned something from the radiohead experience.

When traveling to a huge show at Fair Park, it’s best to avoid 30. My suggestion, take 45. Sure you drive through some sketchy parts of Dallas, but you get home an hour earlier. Also, invest in a Car Locator

Local music blogger Gorilla Vs Bear was there as well From Gorilla Vs Bear

radiogood

Monday, May 19th, 2008

Last night was radiohead at the Superpages.com Center (previously known as the Smirnoff Music Centre, which was previously known as the Starplex, which was originally known as the Coca-Cola Starplex). This was my second time at this venue. I saw Weezer from the lawn years ago. What I learned from that experience is that being on the lawn sucks butt.

So for radiohead, I tried my best to get awesome tickets. As a result I ended up with a pair for Houston that I sold on Stubhub.com, and another pair for Dallas that I ended up selling to Surren. I ended up using Long’s set of tickets, because his seats were more in the center and a bit closer. Though at the end of the night Long was complaining that he wanted to be more off center and a bit further back. Long’s a giant baby though, I thought our seats were awesome.

So this was my first time seeing radiohead. So as you can imagine, I had pretty big, almost insurmountable, expectations.

And you know, for the most part, they were met. radiohead put on a perfectly cromulent performance. Like it was good, but not great. But don’t get me wrong, it was pretty amazingly good. Like constantly flirting between the line of good and awesome. It needed something there that would push it into awesome. My guess, I needed something.

Thinking about it now (as I’m typing this), I wish all concerts were that almost awesome.

I took pictures

Not very good pictures

And I sorta stopped after awhile cause, I was pretty enthralled by the goodness

I really enjoyed the LED lights.

Netflix Prize

I’m gonna go out on a limb, and say that just because I love Arrested Development, doesn’t necessarily mean I’ll love the 2007 Documentary, War Dance.

Try again, Netflix
