The Best Movie About Mermaids Since Splash

Lady in the Water may be the best movie of 2006. I haven’t decided yet. If you ask me tomorrow, I may say it’s The Departed. But for now, it is Lady in the Water. Yes, the Lady in the Water that got 24% on rotten tomatoes.

I just don’t know how so many people can be so wrong. My guess, too many “Shyamalan-a-ding-dong” jokes. They just poison the water. This guy could make the most universally acclaimed/amazing movie ever, and talking about it – someone will always bring up “Shyamalan-a-ding-dong” and how they figured out the ending of The Sixth Sense. And all that negative thought out there, it just leads to horrible/unfair reviews.

I didn’t like his last few movies too much. The Village and Signs seemed like it could be better if only the sound design was good. Maybe I just wasn’t watching loud enough and missed some stuff
