Well turns out I didn’t need a reason for week number 3. I made an executive decision – go on a Thursday (Last Thursday 1/18). And it’s a good thing too. Saturday was AcDec, and Sunday was spent putting out fires at work. There wouldn’t have been any time to see Children of Men! I’m such a leader, maybe I should form an exploratory committee.

Anyways, Children of Men. It was delicious, like eating some amazing cake. Watching it, I could feel love.

It may just be the best movie of 2006. If not, definitely the best Science Fiction movie of 2006.

Let me tell you about my day while CVS updates.

Remember AcDec? Academic Decathlon? Today was the Super Quiz, and I went. Along with Long and Prasanth. I don’t usually go, this is the 3rd time since I’ve graduated. But Prasanth was going, and he asked Long, and then Long asked me, so I said sure.

For the Super Quiz, which was about Climatology, I got 14 right. Though, we did arrive late and missed the first 10 questions. I can only assume that I would’ve gotten those first 10 right, bringing my total to 24. Which is pretty good for not studying. Fun Fact: If you would’ve answered ‘D’ for all the questions, you would’ve gotten 15 right.

It was fun seeing Hoffner and Mrs Woods again. Hoffner has gone gray and has a goatee. Sadly, none of the kids knew about Mr Stinnett. I would kill for some of his brownies again. I also talked to an assistant principal, which is weird. Cause it’s like you’re their equal, they have no power over you.

Also, the Brain in the Jar is still there.

Minh/Thang was there too with whom I assume is his girlfriend. He also works for Lockheed. Fun Fact: Most everyone from UTA CSE works at Lockheed/Raytheon.

And you know, I was looking on the Dallas Morning News site for that picture of me from AcDec – you know, the one with me with my hands in the air cause I got a question right. But I can’t find it. I think the newspaper is in my closet somewhere, but no way I’m going looking for it. I’m just disappointed in the internet. Really let me down.

What was really surprising about the whole event was the lack of Indians and the overflowing of Asians. I thought the racial stereotype is that my people are just as smart as the Asians. The few that were there did clean up though. There was one Indian kid from Martin that had trouble walking because of the amount of medals he had on.

So there you go. This took longer than expected, CVS finished updating a few minutes ago. Back to work.

Reasons Why I’ll Never See Children of Men (Ordered by Week):

  1. Joe (pronounced Hugh Jazz)
  2. Freak Ice Storm
What’s your guess for Week 3?

The Best Movie About Mermaids Since Splash

Monday, January 1st, 2007

Lady in the Water may be the best movie of 2006. I haven’t decided yet. If you ask me tomorrow, I may say it’s The Departed. But for now, it is Lady in the Water. Yes, the Lady in the Water that got 24% on rotten tomatoes.

I just don’t know how so many people can be so wrong. My guess, too many “Shyamalan-a-ding-dong” jokes. They just poison the water. This guy could make the most universally acclaimed/amazing movie ever, and talking about it – someone will always bring up “Shyamalan-a-ding-dong” and how they figured out the ending of The Sixth Sense. And all that negative thought out there, it just leads to horrible/unfair reviews.

It’s Janruary 1st…

It’s time to look at New Year’s Eve panoramas from around the world and eat black-eyed peas.
