Deathrace 2005

I’m a commuter now, and as a result I have to share the roads with people who shouldn’t be allowed to cross the street by themselves. My biggest problem, is when these people don’t use their indicators. There are two general situations on the highway where people don’t feel they have to use their blinkers.

The first, merging on to the highway. I often find myself in front of a person who just change into the leftlane without warning, and often before the solid white ends, so it’s a surprise as well. And most of the time, they somehow don’t think it’s worthwile to use their turn signals. So I often notice their car in my side mirror changing lanes just as I’m about to.

The second, getting out of the fast lane. I think this one stems from the fact that other people just aren’t as nice as I am. I’m usually in the fast lane when I’m driving home. When I notice someone is coming up behind me, I usually get out of the lane and let them pass. But it seems people aren’t used to that, and they jump into the right lane. And since they’re in a hurry, they usually don’t signal.

Those are both common situations, you’d figure they’d happen to the people who don’t signal, and maybe they’ll realise that they should start signalling.

I also upgraded to WordPress 2.0.
